Job Description The Steward is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment in all kitchen and back-of-house areas. This includes dish stations, equipment, storage areas, and banquet support. The role supports Stewarding Supervisors and Leads with daily assignments and ensures all sanitation, safety, and operational standards are upheld. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to exceptional service are essential. HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, equipment, and workstations. • Clean and properly store all pots, pans, China, glassware, silverware, and kitchen tools. • Maintain a work pace that supports business demands and ensures timely replenishment of supplies. • Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and as directed. • Assist team members and follow direction from supervisors and leads. • Provide clear and courteous assistance to guests during emergencies as instructed by management or security. • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating in a pleasant, professional manner at all times. • Wash floor mats, speed racks, dollies, kettles, roasting pans, and other kitchen equipment. • Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of floors and back-of-house hallways. • Restock buffet lines with ice, China, flatware, and glassware as needed. • Polish silver equipment as directed. • Empty trash cans and maintain cleanliness of the loading dock area. • Clean walk-ins, freezers, reach-ins, and storage areas. • Assist with banquet dish-ups as needed. • Follow all Health Department, sanitation, and safety regulations. • Inspect work upon completion to ensure quality and avoid deficiencies. Responsibilities • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Back-of-house restaurant or kitchen experience preferred. • Neat and clean appearance. • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations. • Ability to obtain a Virginia Lottery Non-Gaming License. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 100 lbs repetitively. • Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift. • Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work above shoulder level. • Ability to use both hands for continuous grasping. • Ability to wear and tolerate required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals. This position is full time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 8:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer an initial 9 - 10 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home and attendance during training is 100% mandatory.
