Qualifications: Education/Experience: Must be a current high school student of junior or senior status. Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills required. Computer skills required. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail required. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required. Physical Demands: Required to stand, sit and be mobile one-third to two-thirds of the time. Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time; while reaching with hands and arms occurs one-third of the day. Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs less than one-third of the time. Communicating occurs constantly throughout the day. Lifting occurs about half the time up to 10 lbs and less than one-third of the day from 25-40 lbs. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 41 lbs. The Service Porter is an assistant to the Service Department and Technicians. They will be tasked with duties (not limited to) such as moving and parking vehicles, setting up and maintaining work stations, refilling tires and gas tanks, keeping batteries at full charge, cleaning vehicles, etc. Responsibilities • Maintain service drive accessibility and level of service by moving vehicles and greeting customers • Assist lube techs in various duties • Wash vehicles • Help maintain mechanical shop for clean function and appearance • Shuttle vehicles and customers to other locations • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • A team player focused on providing exemplary customer service. • Previous experience in a dealership environment is preferred. • Able to stand or walk on hard surfaces for the majority of shift in all types of weather while exposed to elevated noise, vibration, and chemicals. Must be able to stoop, bend, and twist on a daily basis. • Can carry up to 20 pounds and lift up to 70. • Able to safely operate a wide variety of cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans, including both automatic and manual transmissions. • Have a valid driver's license. • Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record. • Pass a criminal background check. • Required pre-employment drug test (note: we do not test for marijuana during pre-employment testing). • Also subject to random drug testing, reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, and post-accident testing at the company's request. Physical Demands and Working Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees, in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50-70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Team Members regularly works 45-50 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and combustibles. Fast paced working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
