Waste Management is seeking Trash Collectors / Sanitation Workers to assist with residential and commercial waste collection on assigned routes. Sanitation Workers are responsible for riding on the back of garbage trucks, collecting trash and recycling bins, emptying bins into the truck, and ensuring routes are completed safely and efficiently. Employees may also assist drivers with navigation, checking routes, and ensuring safe operation during pickups. This position typically pays $18 to $26 per hour, with opportunities for overtime pay, early morning shift pay, holiday pay, and performance or safety bonuses depending on location and route.Sanitation Workers are responsible for collecting trash and recycling, lifting and dumping bins into the garbage truck, operating hydraulic packers when trained, assisting drivers, following safety procedures, and ensuring routes are completed on schedule. Responsibilities • Examines damaged vehicle and efficiently plans repair process. • Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair status. • Performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind. • Makes decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time. • Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders. • Participates in all required safety meetings. • Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools. • Directs the work of an apprentice in the performance of tasks when needed, i.e., unusual problems or questions and explains procedures to assistant.
