Shop Crane Technician This position will be located at the Ankeny, IA branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager. *Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service; and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Under the guidance of the Service Manager and other shop technicians, assumes basic job assignments to learn the responsibilities of a Shop Crane Technician. • Helps shop techs perform inspections and repairs. • Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order. • Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • High School Diploma or GED required. Experience as a general laborer or yard worker within the construction or heavy equipment industry preferred. • Must have mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics. • Must be a self-starter with the initiative to advance. The ability and desire to provide excellent customer service is essential. • Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. • May be required to travel to other locations for cross-training. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions. Hours: Monday-Friday, 1pm start time Position Summary: Conveying freight to and from trailers and storage areas by hand or with the assistance of forklifts and hand trucks. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Must have command of English language with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers, perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read shipping labels and follow loading instructions. Will be responsible to load and unload freight according to DOT requirements on and off of trucks by hand or by use of hand truck, dolly, or forklift. Sort and secure items in position on trucks according to DOT requirements or on the dock to prevent damage.
