Although DFL Dock Workers do not work inside a warehouse, you must maximize space when loading freight.Complete pre and post trip inspections on all dock equipmentProperly document all freight control processesParticipate in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programsBe available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignmentsAdhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker ManualQualifications18 years of ageBasic math skillsFluent in EnglishAble to pass a drug screenLegally eligible to work in the United StatesPhysical DemandsThis position requires the ability to perform routine physical tasks associated with dock and inspection operations, including ascending and descending from forklifts, operating forklifts and handling freight and related equipment. Duties may involve standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, climbing, and entering trailers, with regular use of scanners and computer systems. Must have 3 months of verifiable experience • Paid orientation - upon completion and hired. • Sign On Bonus availability varies by location. Ask a recruiter for details. • No more than 1 CMV on-road preventable accident in the last 2 years. No major CMV preventable accidents in the last 5 years. • No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years. • No DUI/DWI within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL. • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test. No drug related conviction within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL. No positive/refused tests in the past 10 years with CDL-A/CLP. • SAP drivers are not eligible for hire.
