Among these duties are observing and documenting client behavior, acting as a role model for clients, interacting with clients, providing the client assistance with activities of daily living, insuring client safety, reinforcing treatment plans and Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute (Moody Neuro) policies, assisting therapy staff with modules, and maintaining various checklists, contracts, and daily log sheets. The Therapeutic Assistant will uphold the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization while maintaining strict confidentiality of personnel and client data and information in the performance of assigned duties.Major Duties And Responsibilities:Observe, monitor, intervene, document, and report client's social and interpersonal behavior and functional ability to perform as an independent individual in the community setting.To carry out therapeutic activities as designed by the clinical staff and/or the Case Manager.Implement behavior management programs including the levels system.Assist in emergency situations including the implementation of fire alarm and fire drill procedures and the provision of first aid treatment in case of illness or injury.Monitor client self-administration of medications and document on medication sheet.Transport clients to and from appointments, work, field trips, recreation activities, etc.Provide transportation, observation, and documentation of responses on ADL outings such as shopping trips.Assist therapies upon request.Serve as a role model at all times maintaining professional dress and conduct.Implement emergency evacuation procedures, i.e. fire drills, etc.Monitor and assist in residential ADL activities.Maintain accurate documentation and records including seizure reports, ADL check sheets, medication sheets, shift change reports, critical incident reports, client charts, etc.Attend in-services, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings.Maintain confidentiality.Provide safe and secure environment for client.Discharge duties in accordance with Moody Neuro organizational policy, CARF and other accrediting bodies.Other duties as assignedOrganizational Functions:Maintain security of building and grounds as assigned on a 24 hour basis.Maintain appropriate reports and logs, i.e. fire drills and fire alarms.Maintain appropriate records of work schedule on sign-in/out sheets.QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:The ability to work well with other people.Able to stimulate and motivate persons served with problems in motivation.Knowledge of social customs and responsibilities.Ability to demonstrate flexibility, innovation, and good judgment.Ability to receive and follow instructions accurately.Knowledge of philosophical and ethical considerations in rehabilitation practice.Hold current CPR and first aid certifications.Ability to communicate accurate and pertinent information through documentations.Ability to execute emergency procedures.Ability to work rotating shifts.Ability to assist patients with transfer in a wheelchair.Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)Current/valid Driver's license.Education:High-School Diploma or equivalent. Job Title Interpret documents to select the most appropriate code for entry into the Justice Management System; docket all pleadings on the computer; testify in court; conform documents; answer phone calls; assist in courtroom with juvenile pleas; issue services including citations,summonses, and other documents; administratively close completed cases; interact daily with judges and probation department; data entry on incoming transfer cases. Essential Duties Monitor, track and perform extensive data entry of each individual case from filing to disposition and beyond. Process dispositions of cases, including entering disposition code, and mailing various forms. Recognize documents that are sealed by statute. Seal documents and files as ordered by the court. Data entry for court documents and prepare for imaging. Initiate efficient procedures for processing and docketing cases. Process motions and orders, including file marking documents, entering into the computer, obtaining judge's signature, and sending copies to the attorney, defendant, and probation department. Process dispositions of cases, including closing out file once plea has been heard or judgment received, sending certified copies of the judgment or commitment papers to the Criminal District Attorney's office, probation department, submitting payment of court appointed attorney to County Auditor, and entering disposition information in the computer. Docket incoming transfer cases; number all documents. Issue subpoenas, including receiving state or defense applications for subpoenas, preparing and sending subpoenas to the sheriff or private process server, and entering into the computer. Attend and assists the court with juvenile pleas. Act as liaison between district clerk, judge, attorneys, court personnel and all other interested parties. As official custodian of record, testify in court. Ensure each case is properly prepared for court. Pull files for announcements, appearances, and juvenile pleadings. Prepare juvenile CR-43J forms for Department of Public Safety to be submitted online. Research files. Perform other duties as requested by the District Clerk.
