Compliance Specialist The purpose of the Compliance Specialist is to perform inspections, investigations and collect samples to protect the public from unsafe or adulterated food by evaluating conformance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. This position conducts complex food safety inspections in facilities that process or hold food products including but not limited to: food processors, dairy farms, dairy plants, custom meat facilities and trucks, egg handling facilities, poultry processors, food warehouses, cottage food permits, cannabis infused edible processors and other food handlers as needed, to assess compliance with state and applicable federal regulations. The Compliance Specialist conducts or is on track to conduct specialized inspections including the following food types along with the specific federal and state regulations that oversee their production; Seafood HACCP, Juice HACCP, Preventive Controls, acidified products or LACF foods. This position performs independent inspections to evaluate conditions found in each facility based on the appropriate state law and applicable federal regulation. It will also independently assess conditions that may lead to increased risk to public health by discerning between minor and critical violations and create reports of inspection findings in a clear and concise manner. At times the position may be asked to participate in drafting sections of legal documents including compliance agreements or Notices of Intent to assess penalties or revocation of licenses. Important Notes WSDA is recruiting for three (3) internal full-time permanent Food Safety Compliance Specialist 3's position within the Food Safety and Consumer Services Division. These positions are home-based in any county in Washington. These positions are represented by the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA). The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The typical starting salary range for this position is: Range 56 Step A $64,512 - Step L $84,528 annually.
GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: Provides tutoring assistance primarily in Chemistry courses taught at Ivy Tech Community College. This is a part-time position based at the South Bend campus. Tutoring will be conducted face-to-face or virtually. The position focuses on supporting student learning in Chemistry and maintaining awareness of course changes and needs specific to Chemistry courses. Location: Ivy Tech Community College - South Bend Employment Type: Part Time Compensation: $15.00/ Hr MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Meet with students in individual, shared, and group tutoring formats to enhance, support, and clarify concepts discussed in Chemistry course lectures, readings, assignments, handouts, and other instructional materials. • Provide students guidance in the acquisition and application of study skills methods appropriate for Chemistry courses. • Serve as a link to other College resources and refer students to appropriate academic support services as needed. • Complete all paperwork and recordkeeping as requested by the supervisor, including required entries in the designated College system, TracCloud. • Participate in initial and ongoing training programs as required. • Consult with Chemistry faculty to help students meet course learning objectives and stay abreast of changes to course content, curriculum, instructional expectations, and needs specific to Chemistry courses. • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. • Demonstrate strong customer service and student advocacy skills through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, and strong problem solving. • Dress and behave in a professional manner. • Maintain the confidentiality of tutoring sessions. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have relevant academic, tutoring, or teaching experience. This may include current or former college students, recent college graduates, retired teachers, faculty members, or individuals with at least one semester of tutoring experience. Current students must have completed at least one semester at Ivy Tech and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the subject area they will tutor. Applicants must demonstrate strong oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. Current or former students must have no campus disciplinary record.
