Your future role at a glanceLocation: Jenks, OKFacility: Ascension Medical GroupDepartment: Urgent CareSchedule: PRNHow you'll make an impact in this roleAssist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.Perform select clinical duties.Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.May document the provider's encounter with patients.List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well asfollow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.What minimum qualifications you'll needLicensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.Medical Assistant obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.Education:High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicableWhat additional requirements you'll needPrior CMA experience preferredMA Certification and/or Registration in good standing through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHAMust either be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or in school currently to obtain your CMA/RMA.Life at Ascension: Where purpose meets opportunityAscension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system with a culture and associate experience grounded in service, growth, care and connection.
