Director Of Student Support Services Creighton University is seeking a collaborative and student-centered leader to serve as the Director of Student Support Services (SSS). The SSS Program is a critical asset within the Division of Student Success and is housed in The Success Center.Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Student Support Services program, one of four federally funded TRIO programs at Creighton. The Director is responsible for leading all aspects of the program in accordance with the approved federal grant and supporting the academic success, retention, persistence, and degree completion of eligible students, including first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, program management, collaboration, and student success expertise, along with a demonstrated commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and helping them successfully transition and persist through and graduate from Creighton University. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of the TRIO Student Support Services program and staff. • Develop and implement innovative programs, services, and strategies that promote student success, retention, persistence, academic development, and degree completion. • Supervise, support, and evaluate program staff while fostering a collaborative and student-centered team environment. • Promote the mission, objectives, and philosophy of the SSS program to the university community and external stakeholders. • Collaborate with campus partners and other offices serving first-generation students and students with disabilities, including Student Accessibility Services, Academic Success, Student and Family Support, Curas Services, Undergraduate Admissions, Student Financial Services, and pre-college TRIO programs. • Ensure strategic direction, data collection, assessment, and continuous improvement for areas within the position's scope. • Maintain compliance with the approved grant, U.S. Department of Education regulations, institutional policies, and other applicable federal requirements. • Manage the TRIO SSS budget, participant records, eligibility documentation, and program data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and appropriate use of grant funds. • Monitor progress toward grant objectives and oversee required federal and institutional reporting, including the TRIO Student Support Services Annual Performance Report. • Serve as an instructor for TSC 125 and maintain a caseload of students as their SSS coach. • Represent the program on university committees, initiatives, and special projects. • Serve as a member of the Student Success Leadership Team within the Division of Student Success. Requirements • Master's degree required. Doctoral degree preferred. • 3+ years of experience at the assistant or director level administering comprehensive support programs. • Demonstrated success in leadership roles in higher education with program development, program and staff management, and monitoring key student success metrics- retention, academic progress, credit completion, and graduation. • Experience with key student populations- specifically first-generation students, students with disabilities and students from low-income backgrounds. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience making effective public presentations to a variety of audiences. • Experience is developing relationships with faculty, staff, and community constituents • Understanding of departmental budgets and general accounting principles. • Experience gathering relevant data for promoting program, grant writing and reporting institutional and grant information Creighton University is committed to providing a safe and non-discriminatory educational and employment environment. Key Responsibilities: • Using a computerized system, responds to South Carolina Medicaid member inquiries in a call center environment using standard scripts and procedures. • Gathers information, assesses caller needs, researches, and resolves inquiries, and document calls. • Provides clear and concise information regarding member eligibility, along with assisting callers with completing their Medicaid applications and providing updates on their application status. • Follows documented policies and procedures including call handling and escalations. • Overall acts as an advocate for Medicaid members to ensure their needs are met. • Navigate across multiple computer screens while accessing and reviewing information from various applications. • Utilizes 5 systems to gather information and document up to 3 systems Required Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age or older. • Have a High School Diploma or an equivalent of education required. • Must be able to submit to a pre-employment screening. • Have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. • Customer service or call center experience preferred. • Must pass the Call Center – Service Skills Assessment and Internet Speed test. • A minimum of 1-year call center experience in telephone customer service or related experience. • Computer literacy and ability to use multiple programs and navigate multiple screens. • Comfortable working within established processes and procedures.
