Our client is seeking a Greenhouse Technician to join their wheat team. As a Greenhouse Technician, you will be part of the Controlled Environments Team supporting research operations at a four-acre facility. The ideal candidate will have some educational or hands on experience with plants, handpollinating and plant care. Job Title: Greenhouse Technician Location: Johnston, IA Pay Range: $22/hour Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday-Friday What's the Job? • Support daily greenhouse functions and research activities in a safe, professional, and compliant environment. • Perform plant care tasks such as seeding, pollinating, transplanting, watering, harvesting, and seed handling for wheat and other crops. • Collect and prepare plant tissue samples for laboratory analysis, ensuring sample integrity for large volumes. • Assist with research experiments, data collection, and accurate record-keeping. • Maintain greenhouse sanitation by disposing of regulated materials and waste appropriately. What's Needed? • High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant sciences, or a related field is preferred. • Two or more years of relevant experience is preferred. • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn internal research software. Kids Ministry Resident NorthPoint Church is seeking a passionate and relational Kids Ministry Resident to join a growing, community-focused church in Northwest Des Moines. This part-time (20 hours/week) residency is designed to develop the next generation of church leaders by providing hands-on ministry experience, intentional leadership development, and meaningful mentorship. As NorthPoint expands its impact, recently opening its doors as a community center, the resident will play a key role in helping children and families come to know Jesus and grow in their faith. This role offers the opportunity to serve in a thriving kids ministry, support weekend programming, build relationships with families, and contribute to a team that values both excellence and joy in ministry. The resident will work closely with staff gaining exposure to church operations, leadership rhythms, and team collaboration.
