Shop Helpers/ Production Workers

Shop Helper We are seeking reliable and hardworking shop helpers to support daily operations in our steel manufacturing facility. This entry-level position assists welders, fabricators, and machine operators, helping keep the shop floor running safely and efficiently. It's a great opportunity! Spanish speakers also welcome to apply. Pay: $15-$16 per hour with overtime Shift: 1st and/or 2nd Key Responsibilities • Assist welders, fabricators, and machine operators with material handling, setup, and cleanup • Load, unload, and move raw steel, sheet metal, and finished products using hand trucks, forklifts, or overhead cranes (training provided) • Cut, grind, deburr, and clean metal parts as directed • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area • Sort, label, and stage materials and finished goods for shipping or the next production step • Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots) • Perform other duties as assigned by shop supervisors Qualifications • High school diploma or GED preferred, not required • Prior warehouse, construction, or manufacturing experience a plus, but not required — willing to train • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and stand for extended periods • Comfortable working around heavy machinery, heat, and noise • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn hands-on skills • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment • Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain) Physical Requirements • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials • Stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout shift • Work in an environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and machinery • Wear required PPE at all times Interested candidates should stop by Nesco Resource between 9:30am-1:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays at 4111 S.
