Front End Associate/Cashier Position Type Part Time Category Customer Service Description The individuals who perform this job provide extraordinary shopping experiences to our guests and exceptional service at the time of checkout. Essential duties and responsibilitiesincluding, but not limited to, the following: • Know and actively demonstrate, daily, our Company Mission Statement and Core Values. • Maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours. • Greet guests with a smiling face and helpful demeanor, use our Guest Services script based on the division in which they serve. For Specs locations: offer the 5% discount, ask for the Specs Key, call the guest by name (if possible), offer additional items, offer the opportunity to give to the charity of the month, and thank the guest for their business. • Operate cash register or electronic scanner and look up products as needed to access UPC codes or prices. • Ensure proper pricing by scanning the correct barcode. • Properly use and maintain computers, registers, and scanner equipment. • Suggestively sell items to guests at the register and offer add-on items, including the charity of the month. • Monitor merchandise brought to the register by stockers so that the accurate amounts are charged to the guest. • Redeem coupons and weigh produce items when required. • Kindly ask the guest to read and answer the pin pad question before starting the transaction. Never answer the pin pad questions for the guest. • If necessary, check acceptable identification, use 36 sign-in, to ensure you make the legal sale. Use best practices and always be professional when checking IDs. • Receive cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, or gift cards. • Issue receipts and any change due. • Accurately count change back to the guest. Working outside of your scheduled time without District Manager approval is prohibited and subject to discipline. In other words, you cannot decide to make up hours because you missed some time after a night out with your buddies unless your District Manager ok's it. Reasoning Ability You need the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Certificates, Licenses You must maintain a valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit and in some cases, a valid Food Handlers Permit. The TABC course takes 2-3 hours to complete, and we will pay you for your time spent in the course up to 3 hours. Spec's will provide a link to the course and login information after the hiring process is complete. We will deduct the cost of the course from your paycheck.
