Who Are We Looking For Motivated students with a focus on business, economics, policy, or other relevant areas and professionals with relevant experience. You will work on our Marketing and Community Engagement functions together with the CEO. You will take the lead in creative and digital marketing and learn key skills in customer and community management. You also need to have good communication skills to understand the team needs and develop your strategies accordingly. The Problems You Will Solve As part of the Founder's Office, you will be a high-performer in a fast-paced role, working directly with C-suite leaders on some of betterdata's top priority projects. Your primary mission is to: • drive reactive / proactive engagements with customers and partners on data protection and privacy and more • articulate betterdata's positions by building key arguments and fact-based narratives (in written and visual form) • guide the business team while preserving their right to be flexible and creative Other strategic projects typically affecting the entire company may be available on an ad-hoc basis, in keeping with the scope of the Founder's Office. The impact you will have This is your career on "adventure mode" as you will directly report to the CEO. Expect unparalleled immersion in the start-up ecosystem, from strategic to the tactical. The scope (international, spanning policy / advocacy / compliance work) and calibre (C-level interaction) that this role demands are atypical and usually unavailable at the graduate level. This degree of access will be highly valuable to any candidate looking to start their own business and / or get front-row seats to the shifting regulatory landscape in tech. About You As conversion is not just a possibility but a desired outcome, fresh / imminent graduates are preferred. You should be able to commit 3+ months to the internship (preferably starting immediately). • Probably, but not necessarily, a Social Science / Communications / Public Policy student, looking for a challenge beyond the PR / marketing / public service trichotomy. • Being comfortable in writing any voice and form: a 15k-word white paper, a 1-page press release, or a brief Telegram message. • Quick to understand and simplify technical / economic / legal language, with attention to tone and nuance. • Competent in qualitative (and occasionally quantitative) analysis, and capable with slides. • Able to keep a keen eye on and successfully juggle many ongoing items. • A joy to work with: on Zoom, in person, and for contractors and Founders alike. Good to have • Passion for security and privacy • Knowledge of basic AI concepts • Any sales experience As Andrew Ng said, "Don't worry about it if you don't understand". Qualifications Location Requirements This position is remote but requires the employee to live within our service area, which can include any of the following areas within Texas: Rio Grande Valley, DFW, greater Austin, greater Houston, greater San Antonio, Coastal Bend, or Laredo. Educational/Training Requirements • Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
