88H Cargo Specialist Job Overview: As a Cargo Specialist, you'll be the cargo handling expert for everything the Army moves by land, sea, or air. You'll ensure the Army receives supplies, weapons, the mail, and equipment on a daily basis all over the world. You will be trained in cargo documentation, the securing of cargo, and learn how to load and unload cargo manually or by operating material handling equipment like cranes and forklifts. Requirements: • A U.S. Citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card • 17 to 34 Years Old • High School Diploma or GED • Meet Tattoo Guidelines • No Major Law Violations • No Medical Concerns Testing & Certifications: • 43 Nationally Recognized Certifications Available • 10 weeks of Basic Training • 8 weeks of Advanced Individual Training • 88 ASVAB Score: General Maintenance (GM) Skills You'll Learn: • Vehicle Operations • Stocking & Storage • Cargo Documentation The Army Civilian Acquired Skills Program (ACASP) can reduce the length of your initial training and streamline your assignment process so you can start your Army career sooner. Prior skills or experience relating to this career may put you in position to join the Army at a higher rank, earn more pay, and obtain leadership positions quicker.
