Job description

Waste Management is seeking Trash Collectors / Sanitation Workers to assist with residential and commercial waste collection on assigned routes. Sanitation Workers are responsible for riding on the back of garbage trucks, collecting trash and recycling bins, emptying bins into the truck, and ensuring routes are completed safely and efficiently. Employees may also assist drivers with navigation, checking routes, and ensuring safe operation during pickups. This position typically pays $18 to $26 per hour, with opportunities for overtime pay, early morning shift pay, holiday pay, and performance or safety bonuses depending on location and route.Sanitation Workers are responsible for collecting trash and recycling, lifting and dumping bins into the garbage truck, operating hydraulic packers when trained, assisting drivers, following safety procedures, and ensuring routes are completed on schedule. Employees must follow company safety guidelines and wear required safety equipment at all times.Full-time employees may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), pension plans in some locations, paid time off, paid holidays, uniform programs, and opportunities for advancement into Driver or Route Operator positions.
